"My formula for living is quite simple. I get up in the morning and I go to bed at night. In between, I occupy myself as best I can." --Cary Grant-- Who links to me?
Apparently it is once again time to move on. I thought I'd stay put for some time here in London, but I got a job offer which I accepted, which requires me to move to Amsterdam, Netherlands. Not too bad, you may say. Well, no, not bad at all. If it weren't for this tiny little detail... I will start working there in February, which is in less than 2 weeks... So far I don't know anyone in Amsterdam, I've been there twice and I really liked it, but moving there is a different thing altogether. My company will pay for and assist in the relocation process, so I won't have to spend yet another night in a brothel (some may remember my night in Macau...), but... Well, we'll see. It's gonna be a whole new experience again, new language (languages actually, my new job requires me to speak French), new people, making new friends again. At least there is one obvious point on the plus side: Amsterdam is quite an attractive destination for weekend trips, so I really hope people will come by the dozens (yes, that is an invitation).
You all know those people (mostly remote relatives you hardly ever see) who ask "So, tell me, what are the next big steps in your future?" And instead of replying sth like "Kick your shins real hard and run" you actually give a polite and more or less honest answer. So, what are the next big steps in my future? Well... I'll give up my apartment next week ( farewell party'll be this Thursday, in case anyone's in the area and hasn't got an invitation already. Dress up, or, as Barney of How I Met Your Mother would say: Suit up! ), pack my stuff in little boxes , store them in the already crammed basement at my parents' house and take the plane to London, Saturday next week, where I will stay with my brother until either of the following things happen: 1) I find a job 2) I find a room I can afford. So, that was one long sentence. Brother, just in case you're reading this: No need to be scared, I'll try my best... Oh, BTW, I'll be there around breakfast time . Ok, where was I... Right. London. Errm, yes, so I'll move to London, try to find a job (either a side job until I find a real job, or a real job right away) and a nice room that's not too expensive. As soon as I find sth: visitors are most welcome! And ppl who know of rooms to rent in North London (Camden, Islington, Archway...): mostest welcome!! This is gonna be fun!!! Just had to add this because I think it's sugar!!!

...and I'm gonna be his godmother :-) I'm kinda jealous, my brother gets to be the godfather, which sounds way more cool. But women will have their say in organised crime, and then a godmother will make the same impression ;-)

I'll be heading to London (April 2nd) to see my brother and some friends there. Then I'll move on to Salzburg/Bad Reichenhall (April 11) to see my sister, from there to Rosenheim to my aunt's before I go back to Bamberg via Munich. If any of you happen to be in the area, pls let me know so we can meet.

Mood: good! - not matching the weather.
I finished my last internship last week, which leaves me looking for a job now. Which is what I'm currently doing.
But still I get to see some of the sweet sides of life every now and
again: traveling across the republic to meet friends, staying up late,
sleeping late (surprising how much faster you adapt to staying up late
than to getting up late), watching my favourite soaps and
series... At long last I have the time to do my own cooking again
(tonight's gonna be home made pizza), and maybe I'll even find the time
to try my luck on Assam Laksa one of these days. We'll see.
Since Top X lists seem to hugely popular nowadays, here's mine:
Top 5 of Things I Need Right Now
- a good job which earns me
- good money,
- a man (did I just say this out loud???), and one I haven't known
before, who isn't part of Bamberg's happy family (most of my readers
will know what I'm referring to here...),
- a warm and dry climate OR warm socks and an umbrella,
- those cute little trainers known by the name of Onitsuka Tiger Mexico '66 black/white
Sigh...
Thanks to Jay I have to fill in this thing here.

Me in Stuttgart
create your own visited countries map
It's some 12% of the world, which obviously is not quite true, cos for example you can't select just HK or Macau only but instead you have to select China. And in some countries I've only been to certain cities. But anyway: good for starters but still some work to do..
Well... some of you might have heard of it already: on Monday afternoon, the roof of the local Ice Rink in Bad Reichenhall, Germany, collapsed (CNN-coverage here). As some of you might also know, my sister and my nephew live in Bad Reichenhall. And they actually happened to be ice skating at that time that place that day, along with a friend and her daughter. My sister called my mom last night to tell her that she and my nephew are ok, but up to that moment they hadn't had any news of the other two.
This morning I got a message that the daughter was found alive, her mother is still missing though.
This year sucks big time so far. Can anybody please help????
[Update] The mother, my sister's best friend, was found on Tuesday. She must have been dead immediately. She leaves a husband and a five year old daughter. And many friends.

No, the party itself is not gonna be one and a half days (I assume). That's just the departure and arrival time in Bamberg. Since most of the original crowd chickened out and are not coming, it's gonna be just Andy and me who'll be joining Torben et al. for dinner before heading to THE party. Rumors have it that a band will be playing, and apparently they're planning to have a vodka fish tank (I do hope they'll remove the fish beforehand). Oh,and did I mention it was a private party? In a private apartment? How cool is that, to have a band play in your apartment? Well, I'll be turning 30 before long, so see how... To the rest of all you suckers and darlings, I wish you a Happy new year Schönes neues Jahr Bonne année Selamat tahun baru Próspero Año Nuevo
